Hello and and welcome back.

The longer we live the more we see the world change around us. Like technological advancement that we would only see in movies. With the future on its way, the line between science fiction and reality becomes unclear. Like the bio computers scientists are creating with rat neurons and stem cells.

In order to do this  the way this tech works is by first extraction some cells from a rat brain and having them culture in a glass dish, then they lay the neurons from the lab grown brain on top of a special electrode grid having them form a connection. The grid is used to appeal to the “brain's senses" in a way by sending electrical feedback.  All of this was discussed in Thomas Demarse’s experiment where they had the brain learn to  fly a fighter jet in computer simulation.

Over the years there has been a recurring joke with anything with computing power or a screen. So this being a “computer’” in all, there was one thing that really mattered. Can it run Doom? Well a YouTube channel by the name of “The Thought Emporium” is attempting just that with their video “Growing Living Rat Neurons To play… Doom”.  In the video it gives us a better insight of how the neurons work. The way this experiment should work is by stimulating the brain and rewarding it or punishing it with ascertain noises. Not only that but each section of the electrode array will be set for different actions so it can man over or defend itself in game. Similar to Ai robots it learns by itself and tries to predict future patterns. He also mentions that they need  air and food, so you would have to periodically feed them to keep them

Now, before I end this off you may be wondering, “What's the point?”. Well as stated in both sources the reason for them to play games is so scientists may better understand how the brain recognises patterns. To add on to that, it's also meant to help find reasons for brain disorders and how they develop.

Thank you for tuning in and I hope you learned something new.

  1. Your four new entries look pretty good, Dorian. Your writing flows pretty well, and you have personality in your writing. Good visual appeal with images and layout (though Entry #4 has some visual issues with images and text color and format). You are somewhat developing your content well, but there are areas where you can analyze further and create more significance for your audience. Keep working the concepts of rhetoric to connect to your audience and keep them engaged. Keep it up!

Also, this entry is labeled as #7, but I am counting it as #6 since #6 is the fourth entry of this grading period.
