Hello, today i will be reviewing and comparing 2 blogs that revolve around a girl scouts encounter with a wild alligator. for some context on September 13 2023, a girl scout troop in Huntsville Texas had a sudden encounter with a Wild alligator while swimming in Lake Raven that caused the Huntsville state park to close the the body of water to swimmers. Luckily no one was harmed, but they sure got one hell of a scare.
Blog number one is brought to you by Brobible. I enjoyed how author elaborates on the situation by using the first hand responses during the event like when they used the words of Nicole Glenn, the troop leader, “There was no doubt in my mind that that alligator was not going to try and eat somebody. I always say that I love them to death. I always say I would do anything for them. Now, I definitely know I would do anything for them.”. The responses of the individuals really helped convey the mood of the situation which is further conveyed by thee wording the Writer utilizes like the phrase, "...their trip was plunged into chaos as an estimated 14-foot alligator swam toward them while everyone was in the water.". This being said, the authors purpose was entertain with all the dramatic wording, but it appears to be Casual/ Professional, because their are no spelling mistakes or improper grammar. The Second Blog was written for TMZ. this one i did not enjoy as much as the first one even though they are about the same incident. This Blog is far shorter and i feel that there is alot less info to work with. Its okay that its not to long because its not a huge incident but i fell that the other one gave more to the readers. on the other hand it is still entertaining as was the purpose for writing it because the writer leves a joke at the end which helps end it off "Unclear if the gator was just a fan of Thin Mints."
At the end of the day both were a good read and i thank you for your time.
I liked how to compared and contrasted the same article for the two different blogs! Great job keeping it informative and casual at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI found myself feeling the same way about my articles, one was just too short and it felt like it needed tpo be longer, but its definetly intersting that TMZ made that joke in the end about a topic such as this one... I side with you on this on eand prefer the first one based off the evidence you provided to us.
